OUR MISSION

“Leading the way for Inclusive Innovative Quality Services”

VALUES

Our principles and values that underpin our funding and planning are:

Kotahitanga
Developing and maintaining a unity of purpose and direction towards Central Health’s vision.

Pukengatanga
Having a place of belonging or identity.

Kaitiakitanga
To nurture, consolidate, develop and expand Central Health so that it can continue to fulfil its function and duties.

Wairuatanga
Fostering one’s spiritual essence in addition too the physical dimension. The physical world is represented by Te Ao Marama (Maori world view) which is surrounded and connected to the spiritual realms. Central Health recognises that a person’s wairua requires sustenance and nourishment as regularly as the tinana (physical) and that those needs are different for each individual.

Whanaungatanga
It’s being part of a larger whole of the collective. About knowing you are not alone but that you have a wider set of acquaintances that provide support, assistance, nurturing, guidance and direction when needed.

Manaakitanga
Expressing acknowledgment of another’s mana, respecting another’s point of view, perspective and behaviour. Manaakitanga is also about supporting one another and showing hospitality to manuhiri (visitors) and consumers.

Rangatiratanga
The expression of attributes of a rangatira including humility, leadership by example, generosity, altruism, diplomacy and professionalism.

Ukaipotanga
Having a place of belonging or identity; recognising or knowing the importance of knowing where you belong, where you count, where you are important and where you can contribute.

Rangatahi and Whanau focused:

Through our Mission and our Values, our operating philosophy has emerged. The essence of our Mission is a focus on Whanau/Families including Rangatahi/Youth. It involves bringing all the resources at our disposal, including our professional and cultural capabilities and our passion as Tangata Whenua together to meet the needs of Whanau, Hapu and Iwi to support them to recovery, independence and healthy living.

Our Tikanga philosophy of care focuses on ensuring that our employees, systems and processes are focused on meeting Rangatahi/Youth and Whanau/Family needs.
